Heartland Forest Nature Centre
Heartland Forest is a nature centre located on 93 acres of provincially significant wetland and carolinian forest. Heartland’s mission is to enrich the lives of all people through the enjoyment of nature. The staff and volunteers work to conserve the local environment and educate the community on the value of nature. The property’s facilities include an interpretation/nature centre, fishing pond, turtle nesting site, snake hibernaculum, pavilions, treehouse, playground, and kilometers of forest trails. Heartland's services include winter, summer, and march break camps, school programming, birthday parties, group and club activities, and team building and leadership days . All of Heartland Forest’s facilities and services are accessible for all people regardless of ability.

Program Costs: Programs cost $5.00 per student per half-day program and $7.00 per student per full-day program. Staff enjoy free and other adults will be charged $2.00.

Programs Offered: All 7 programs are guided, curriculum-linked, interactive, include outdoor components, and are tailored to the specific grade level. Team-based games, challenges, and scavenger hunts reinforce learning outcomes. Half-day programs are 2.5 hours long (includes nutrition break) and full-day programs are 4.5 hours long (includes nutrition and lunch breaks).
